Prayer for the season

I do not know what lies ahead, the way I cannot see.

Yet one stands near to be my guide, he'll show the way to me.

I know who holds the future, and he'll guide me with his hand.

With God, things don't just happen, everything by him is planned.

So as I face tomorrow with its problems large and small

I'll trust the God of miracles, give to him my all.

I do not know how many days of life are mine to spend

But one who knows and cares for me will keep me to the end.

I do not know the course ahead, what joys and griefs are there.

But one is near who fully knows, I'll trust his loving care.

We live by faith, not by sight.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to him,

and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3 v 5-6

So often, as I try to live faithfully each day, I can't see his glory because earthly things and events are blocking the way. When I'm going through trials it can be hard to see God at work in the situation. My eyes can be so focused on my need, that I do not see an answer to the way through my struggles.

But reading God's promises in scripture and remembering my past experiences of seeing God's work in my life, reassure me that God is present, even though I can't see past the obstructions that are blocking my view.

As I recall God's blessings and answer to prayers in the past, I can trust and envision that God is at work in my life.

Even when I can't see or feel God's presence, God is working in my life.
