These are some of the words and phrases used in the referrals I have received for young people in Burnham and Highbridge in the last 3 months alone.

You may be shocked by them. I’m no longer shocked but I am saddened that there are so many young people on our doorstep who do not feel safe in their own homes and community.

I believe that it is imperative that we, as church wanting to serve our community, take these problems seriously and do what we can. Providing a safe place, in the form of a youth club or youth café is something we can do.

The leadership team are looking at youth outreach as part of our plans for 2022.

Please pray about these issues and, if you have any thoughts on what we can do as a church, speak to me or another member of the leadership team.
